The Burn
A key part of our event is writing things we need to let go with the turn of the season and burning the messages. To the right is the effigy from the 2025 event. This year's design is under construction.
Countdown to the Funk!
​Put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip—Funk Equinox is coming! This isn’t just a dance party; it’s a ritual of release and rebirth, timed with the Fall Equinox. From the roots of funk like Parliament to the outer edges of the funkiverse, we’ll groove through cosmic soundscapes, burn what no longer serves us, and dance into the future together.
Come adorned in funktastic attire and prepared for a night of soul ignition, deep groove, and funky fellowship. Expect a nebula of lights, immersive visuals, and soul-liberating beats. We’ll gather around the fire for our symbolic burn and keep the party going into the night.

​LOGISTICS
This is a kid-friendly overnight camp event at the Gerdes Farm in Junction City, Oregon. Gate opens at 5:00 p.m. for camp setup. The welcome ceremony begins at 7:00 pm (dinner beforehand or on your own), and the funk journey starts at dusk. Bring your own snacks, beverages, and cozy camp gear—pancakes will be served in the morning. Let’s burn the past and dance into the future!
SCHEDULE
  • 5:00 PM — Gates open! Arrival + Camp Setup
    • Settle in, pitch your tent, and get grounded. (Dinner is on your own—eat beforehand. Bring snacks for later.)
  • 7:00 PM — Welcome Ceremony: Sunset toast + Intention setting.
    • Choose your threshold: a grounding gong bath or funky mingling with cocktails and ambient soundscapes.
  • Dusk — The Funk Journey Begins
    • The dance floor activates at twilight. We’ll groove from day into night with soul-liberating beats.
    • The music returns. Lights ignite. The funk gets deep. Dance into the future.
  • ~11:00 PM — The Burn & Bonfire
    • Drumming leads us into a communal ritual. Burn what no longer serves you, and rise with the flames.
  • Sunday Morning — Pancake Breakfast
    • Re-entry + gratitude. Everyone out by 1:00 PM. ​
