My 2nd-grade daughter came home from school and said, "Dad! We have to have a disco party!" She elaborated that we needed a disco ball as well. I had spent my life as a classic rock guy, but this prompt reminded me that I spent a part of my youth growing up in Los Angeles in the 70's when disco and funk was everywhere. Fast forward 9 months and I throw a disco themed party in my back yard with some cheap lights, a 40w stereo system and Spotify on my phone. After that first amazing party, I've never looked back.
